3rd Wave Music, , a faith-based music band based in Korea, asked music video director Rocky Jo to help direct a music video production that would feature Korean pop star Brian Joo of Fly to the Sky. Rocky was immediately drawn to the beauty of the track, and the quiet sadness the song carried. With these themes in mind, Rocky set out to create a heart-aching music video about death and loss.
Filming took place in Korea using video production services from a full-on Korean film production company (with English translators). The shoot involved more than 30+ crew and 20+ extras to show the story of 2 angels guiding spirits home. Weather and mosquitos were a factor as the location was hot and humid due to nearby lakes and marshes. Nevertheless, the team powered on through the heat and mud to successfully wrap the day.
Every production has its unique challenges, and music videos especially require creativity to capture or compliment its music. This is why working with a creative expert like Rocky can make all the difference when you have someone who can both imagine and execute.
